Rumours are flying that Meghan Markle could be set to return to screens as she attempts to crack Hollywood once again. She has reportedly been offered a role on a major film project. Not only that, her latest attempt to keep herself and her husband, Prince Harry, relevant is said to involve a reality TV-style renewal of their vows. The couple will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary on May 19 and reports of a potential vow renewal — and its alleged ties to an unannounced reality television project — have gathered momentum. Sources claim Meghan is considering filming the vow renewal as part of a new reality-style TV show, for an intimate look at the Sussex family.

I recently suggested that in order to get back on TV to get back on TV the pair should consider a reality show, but this was not what I had in mind. I said they need a full-on access all areas warts and all reality show. Think The Osbournes but with notions or the Kardashians but with crafting (because Meghan does love her crafting!). A vow renewal is set to fail dismally for the pair for several reasons but mainly because the celeb guests will be very thin on the ground. The pair are social pariahs in Hollywood and even Donald Trump has publicly slammed them. She is running out friends thick and fast, and her hopes of using her celeb black book to land herself some roles are drying up quickly.

Meghan is delusional if she thinks anyone wants to watch two sad sacks with no friends gushing over each other as they renew vows and declare their undying love, and she has probably exhausted all her rent-a-friends after they appeared on With Love, Meghan.

As if to prove how unpopular they are, they were recently excluded from one of the biggest nights in the social calendar, The Met Gala.

The pair have never been invited to the event, which is said to be due to organiser Anna Wintour's friendship with Harry's stepmother Queen Camilla. Without Wintour on their side, they will struggle to pull in many people who are loyal to the former Vogue editor.

Indeed, Meghan's address book is ever shrinking as she is also said to have fallen out with Lauren Sanchez, all of the Kardashians, Ted Sarandos of Netflix and the CEO of the WME Group, Ari Emanuel, who would no doubt stop his clients from attending.

Needless to say, despite their love of flaunting their titles, any royal or royal adjacent guests will be a no-go. Even the most desperate long-lost cousin wouldn't want to be seen there lest it annoy Charles or William.

While a tearful family reunion might also help generate some interest in this show, Meghan is extremely unlikely to kiss and make up with her family anytime soon. If she did invite them, she would have to explain on camera why she avoided visiting her 81-year-old father after he underwent life-saving surgery during which his leg was amputated, instead writing him a letter, which is something I can't see her doing.

This vow renewal would be a huge comedown for Meghan after the worldwide great and good attended their last nuptials in St. George's Chapel. It would be Meghan, Harry, their children and no one else - a huge humiliation when their wedding was screened to millions worldwide.

Their relationship is not as compelling as Meghan seems to think, and their lack of friends means this project is surely dead in the water before they even film a frame.
