Man charged over rare Harry Potter book theft
A man suspected of stealing a rare first edition of HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE from an art gallery has been charged with theft.
Kevin McGirr is accused of taking the J.K. Rowling tale, which is valued at almost £6,000, from a special display box at the Creative Art Gallery in Woodstock, Oxfordshire on 30 October (10).
The limited edition book was later found wrapped in a plastic bag in nearby Abingdon on 15 November (10).
McGirr will appear before Banbury Magistrates Court on 4 January (11), according to BBC News.
