Rod Stewart made 'clear' blunder on Glastonbury stage and fans didn't notice

Following on from Rod Stewart's iconic performance on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, fans have only just noticed that the 80-year-old had a rather funny onstage moment. The singer, who performed during the Legends slot on Sunday, took to the stage in sweltering conditions as he serenaded the crowd with several of his hit songs. However, comedian Harry Hill shared one unseen clip of Rod Stewart that has since been widely circulated on social media. Finding the funny side to it, he typed online: "I think my Glasto highlight has been Sir Rod blowing his nose." In the footage, Sir Rod can be seen reaching for a tissue and using it on stage.

Prior to the cheeky onstage blunder, the singer had been looking in his pocket for a handkerchief and then walking towards the back of the stage to find one.

The post has now garnered 16,000 likes and over 300 comments from fans. One follower said: "He was brill. Loved him going off stage for a cuppa. Good on him. True entertainer. Xx."

A second person also commented: "Everyone needs to blow their nose sometime even rock stars." EastEnders star Michelle Collins typed: "Hilarious!" as another person said: "Why is this so funny."

A fourth also chimed in: "Highlight was introducing LuLu one song too early and waiting for a good 30 secs to be told to carry on."

After performing some of his greatest hits, Rod began to bring out his guest stars, including Mick Hucknall from Simply Red and Ronnie Wood from The Rolling Stones, who was his former bandmate in Faces. There was also a moving tribute to Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie, who died in November 2022. Scottish singer Lulu was another one of Rod’s guests, but her announcement did not go very smoothly.

During his set, Stewart introduced Ronnie and then Lulu, before he stopped and said: "Oh, Lulu is coming on in a bit." She eventually came on later, wearing a stunning white suit, and sang a duet with Rod.

During their performance of Hot Legs, Lulu jokingly declared: “We’d make a great couple.” Rod then completed his gig with his classic hit, Sailing.

His performance went five minutes over time, which could be blamed partly on Rod changing his outfit three times. After his final song, Rod said: "We have got to get off the stage soon, we are done.”
