Child's needs prompted Zeta-Jones to hit the high notes on Broadway
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES' recent spell on the Broadway stage was made possible by one of her children's educational needs in New York.
The actress wowed theatre critics in A Little Night Music, opposite Angela Lansbury, earlier this year (10) and now her husband Michael Douglas has revealed what made the project possible.
Speaking about his love of New York in the new issue of Parade magazine, the actor says, "New York is where we live now. We lived in Bermuda until last September. One of our kids has some special needs and it was recommended he go to a special school in the New York area.
"Knowing that, Catherine said, 'Well, look, I'll do a musical.'"
Douglas refused to go into details about what the "special needs" were or which of his two young children with Zeta-Jones prompted the move to the Big Apple.
