BBC Dr Punam Krishan's famous husband and sweet Strictly Come Dancing admission
Dr Punam Krishan has become a regular face on our screens and airwaves after she joined Morning Live in 2021- but she's not the only famous face in the family.
Strictly Come Dancing is back in full swing, featuring a host of beloved celebrities strutting their stuff on the dance floor each week.
Among them is Dr Punam Krishan, who viewers may recognise from Morning Live or BBC Radio Scotland.This year's Strictly sees Dr Krishan paired with professional dancer Gorka Marquez.
On Saturday, October 5, they performed to the Bollywood track, Bole Chudiyan from the 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The raven-haired beauty couldn't help but get choked up after the performance.
She gushed: ''I never saw Indian girls dancing on mainstream television, so to be doing now, an Indian dance, on a platform like Strictly, it's huge. I am such a proud Scottish Indian girl.

"In this couple's choice, I really just want to bring my culture and my heritage to the forefront."
Born in Glasgow on May 28, 1983, the celebrity doctor is the eldest of two daughters in her family. She earned her medical degree from Glasgow University, a city she still considers home.
What many might not know is that Dr Krishan is married to a quite the famous hunk.The 41-year-old is married to Scottish Conservative health spokesman, Dr Sandesh Gulhane.
The pair share two children, a son named Aarish and a daughter called Ellora, according to the Scottish Daily Express. Self-confessed Strictly superfan Dr Punam Krishan is a familiar face on BBC, frequently appearing on Morning Live and BBC Radio Scotland, earning her the title of "media medic and broadcaster".
Away from the studio, the star has also ventured into children's literature, penning her own book. Although taking to the Strictly dance floor marks a significant departure from her usual surroundings, Dr Krishan is determined to rise to the challenge.
Prior to the competition's commencement, she expressed her excitement, stating: "This still doesn't feel real, I am overjoyed to be a contestant on this year's show.
"I have watched Strictly every year with my family and it feels extra special that it's the 20th year, I can't believe I will be the one getting Strictly-fied now. This is so out of my comfort zone, but I'm up for the journey and will give it my absolute all."

The mother-of-two further conveyed her enthusiasm during an appearance on Morning Live. She gushed: "I cannot tell you how excited I feel. As a mega fan of the show for years, this honestly feels like a dream come true.
"And I'm in a very, very lucky position because many members of our Morning Live family have been there." Fans will have to stay tuned to see how the medical expert will fair on the BBC programme.
