The aftershocks of the bombshell 'Wagatha Christie' case are far from over, with Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney set to re-enter the legal fray.

Monday, October 7 marks another chapter in the WAG saga as 42 year old Rebekah continues to deal with the fallout of her failed libel action against 38 year old Coleen, stemming from an explosive episode in July 2022.

According to The Sun, Becky is taking Coleen back to court as she contests a £1.8million bill which she claims has been "unfairly inflated".

The source said: "From the costs of experts to legal fees, the figures are ludicous."

They added: "Becky won't stand for it. She will keep fighting in court until she feels there is a fair outcome."

During that high-profile court battle, Mrs Justice Steyn found in favour of Coleen, determining her viral social media outburst accusing Rebekah of funneling stories from her private Instagram to The Sun was "substantially true".

In a subsequent ruling made in October by the same jurist, Rebekahthe other half of Leicester City's Jamie Vardywas mandated to cover 90% of Coleen's legal fees. With Rooneys expenses surpassing the £2million mark, not including the £350,000 that had accumulated even before the case commenced in May 2022, the financial stakes were immense.

Last November saw Rebekah Vardy saddled with paying an initial £800,000 towards Coleen's towering costsa figure that didn't represent the final tally. The drama is slated for a courtroom revival at London's High Court, as stated by the Liverpool Echo, with a specialist costs judge poised to deliberate further on the financial repercussions, reports the Daily Star.

Specialist costs judges who preside over the proceedings regarding expenses in civil cases are set to make a critical judgement on the amount winning parties can reclaim, with the potential to slash figures if deemed excessive or unjustified.

This morning, a case at the Royal Courts of Justice unfolds as Rebekah Vardy challenges some of the hefty costs put forward by Coleen Rooney.

Worlds were rocked when Coleen took to Twitter in October 2019 with allegations that would spark Rebekah Vardy's libel action. The wife of the ex-Everton footballer announced she had been secretly planting fake anecdotes to sniff out a mole and deduced it was Rebekah's account that had been sharing secrets to The Sun.

Coleen publicly accused Vardy's account of being the culprit behind a trio of fabricated Sun stories derived from her own private Instagram, detailing fictitious events such as her journey to Mexico for "gender selection" plans to return to television, and a flood in her basement.

After the much-publicised court case, Mrs Justice Steyn delivered a verdict in her favour, determining that it was "likely" Rebekah's ex-agent Caroline Watt had relayed information to the press and that she "knew of and condoned this behaviour".

The judge further noted that Rebekah had "actively" participated, "directing Ms Watt to the private Instagram account, sending her screenshots of Mrs Rooney's posts, drawing attention to items of potential interest to the press, and answering additional queries raised by the press via Ms Watt".
