Kylie Minogue, who takes to the stage at BST Hyde Park tomorrow night (Saturday, July 13) needs no introduction. The Australian pop princess has enjoyed a huge career since she first came to prominence in Neighbours.

Her girl-next-door appeal saw her snapped up for a pop career and after topping the charts with hits such as I Should Be So Lucky she left the show to focus on music. It turned out to be a savvy move and she is the highest-selling female recording artist from Australia, having sold over 80 million records worldwide.

Unlike many of her chart peers she survived her bubblegum pop image of the 80s and came out the other side a sexier and more savvy artist dabbling in other genres but always returning to the anthemic dance style tracks that made her name. Now 56 there is not much she hasn't accomplished.

She still enjoys huge recording success dominating the airwaves last year with the hugely infectious Pada Padam. She is busier than ever having completed a concert residency in Vegas, she recorded An Audience with Kylie for ITV last December, and in February this year she signed with United Talent Agency for live representation in Canada and the US as well as for acting roles worldwide, in March she received a Global Icon Award at the Brits and in the same month, she also received Billboard Women in Music's Icon Award.

Perhaps the highlight of her year to date though was performing I Will Survive and Can't Get You Out of My Head, Madonna during the Queen of Pop's The Celebration Tour. It's safe to say Kylie is going nowhere. But what happened to the rest of her young Neighbours co-stars who were also thrust into the limelight?

Jason Donovan was Neighbours golden boy playing Scott Robinson, the love interest for Kylie's Charlene Mitchell.

In real life, Kyle and Jason dated for a time and delighted fans when they released a duet Especially For You. While Jason enjoyed chart success it was not on a par with Kylie and by 1991 he had turned his attention to musical theatre.

He later admitted that by 1995 he had a serious drug problem, taking around three grams of cocaine a day. In early 1995, he attended Kate Moss's 21st birthday party at The Viper Room in Los Angeles, where he suffered a drug overdose.

He has now been clean for decades and continues to enjoy success in musical theatre. He also embraces his pop past with appearances and retro festivals and his own tours.

He has been married to Angela Malloch since 2008 and the couple have three children.

Guy Pearce played Kylie's school friend Mike Young. He, Charlene and Scott were a tight knit group and later on Jane Harris (Annie Jones) joined the gang when Mike started dating her.

Like most of the young cast of that era, he released a single. His track Call of the Wild from the soundtrack Heaven Tonight was released in 1989 and peaked at number 156 on the Australian charts.

He set his sights on Hollywood after departing the show and has appeared in huge hit movies such as L.A. Confidential, Memento and The Time Machine.

He is also not averse to appearing in TV shows and in 2021 he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role in the acclaimed mini-series Mare of Easttown.

He also returned to Neighbours for what was supposed to be the final-ever episodes in 2023.

He turned to musical theatre playing Danny Zuko in Grease on the West End opposite pop star Sonia.

In 1995 he landed a high profile UK TV role when he was cast in the Saturday evening action adventure series Bugs whch ran for four years.

He has won numerous awards throughout his career for both his theatre and screen work.

Plain Jane the superbrain was incessantly bullied at Erinsborough High. Cue one ugly duckiling to swan makeover and she landed herself a hot boyfriend in the shape of Mike Young.

She left the show in 1989 and seemed to disappear. In 2020 she revealed to the Mirror that just five years after leaving the show her mother Elizabeth was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. As a result, she spent two decades turning down job offersin order to care for her.

Her mother sadly passed away in 2016 and in 2018 she began making guest appearances in Neighbours once again before returning permanently in 2020.
