Helen Skelton was hit with a snappy comeback after making a brutal remark on Tuesday’s episode on Morning Live.

Alongside her co-host Gethin Jones, the presenter appeared on the BBC talk show with Strictly Come Dancing’s Neil Jones as their guest.

The choreographer was named as one of the pros confirmed to make a comeback in the competition later this year and was quizzed about his expectations.

Although the 42-year-old was confirmed, it doesn’t guarantee he will be paired with a celebrity and subsequently face the judges.

This was the case for Neil who joined Strictly in 2016 but only appeared twice on the show within those eight years.

In 2019 he danced alongside football icon Alex Scott and then with Eastenders star Nadia Wadia in 2021.

Helen congratulated Neil on his role and stated: “You're in the first team at Strictly, the announcement came out yesterday.

“Back again, congratulations, that must be a great call because it's the biggest show on television, an army of fans, you're part of it.”

Referencing the call with the Strictly bosses, he responded: “Actually, when you get the phone call and they're talking to you, you're like, ‘just tell me, stop with the hello, how are you, just tell me.’”

“You don't always get a partner,” Helen remarked, which prompted Neil to jokingly hit back: “No, don't rub it in”.

“That would mean a lot right?” Helen continued, as he added: “This year could be my year to win it, I just need a partner.”

Although the celebrities have yet to be confirmed, the lineup of pros also includes, Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones and Nikita Kuzmin.

As well as Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.

Strictly judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel-Horwood and Anton Du Beke will make their comeback, as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return as presenters.
