Kylie Minogue has been no stranger to experimenting with her looks over the years since rising to fame as an actress on Neighbours back in the 1980s. The singer turns 56 today and has sure proven that age is just a number, as she continues to put her age-defying physique centre-stage.

To mark her special day, the Slow hitmaker shared throwback pictures of herself as a youngster followed by three snaps of her celebrating her birthday in style. Pictures shared on Kylie's Instagram show her giving fans a glimpse of her jaw-dropping pins in a figure-hugging strapless black gown which featured a layered tulle skirt and sheer tights.

In the thread of snaps, she is seen sprawling across a chair and seemed to be in high spirits with a huge smile on her face. The singer's latest look is one of her many extravagant styles over the years which have sure garnered attention.

From a full-body fishnet look, to her love for leopard print and a full Las Vegas makeover, it's likely that at least one of her iconic outfits will remain a vivid memory for some fans. Speaking last year, Kylie confessed to being known as 'Sparkle' amongst friends due to her age-defying factors.

Speaking to Radio Times about ageism, she said: "I’ve had people say to me, throughout the years, ‘You’ll always just be you'. They don’t really see my age, which is kind of funny, because I started so young, and if there was any detrimental aspect to that it was, ‘You’re so young, what do you know, how can you be credible?’

“I have friends for whom, on their phone, I’m just called Sparkle. I don’t quite know how I’ve managed it, but I don’t think I’ve had to deal with it as much as some other people.”
