Freddie Prinze Jr shares secret to long-lasting marriage with wife Sarah Michelle Gellar
Freddie Prinze Jr has opened up about his marriage to Sarah Michelle Gellar and why he thinks they have lasted more than 20 years.
Freddie Prinze Jr has revealed the secret to his 20-year marriage to Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The couple met on the set of the 1997 movie I Know What You Did Last Summer and tied the knot in 2002.
In 2022, the 47-year-old appeared on The Kyle and Jacki O Show and discussed his marriage with the actress.
After admitting he "hesitates" to offer relationship advice, Freddie explained why their union has been so successful.
He said: "The reason why I think Sarah and I work is because my mom was a chef and I learned how to cook, and I married someone who couldn't cook."

The actor joked of his importance in his wife's life, adding: "So I'm necessary. She needs me to live and sustain herself."
He also pointed out that laughter is huge factor in their marriage. Although they first met in 1997, the Hollywood duo's first date didn't come until three years later.
Speaking to US Weekly in 2020, the She's All That star admitted he only wanted to be friends with Sarah, 47, at first.

He said: "By the end of the movie, I just wanted to be friends with her because I thought she was too skinny and I wanted to cook for her. Because that's what my family does.
"And so, we started this weekly barbecue thing at her house, and me and my cousins would come over and cook food for her and her friends. And then we'd make sure everybody ate, and that was kind of how our friendship began."
The couple went on their first date in 2000, which turned out to be by chance.
"We were friends for a very long time. We'd had many dinners before. And we were supposed to go with someone else, and the third person didn't make it out and we decided to still go," the star from 'Scream 2' shared with PEOPLE in 2020.
"We were just two people at dinner catching up," she said. "We had a long car ride and a long dinner and things just happened."

The actors from 'Scooby Doo' began their family seven years later, with their daughter Charlotte born in 2009.
Their second child, Rocky, was born in 2012.
