Hollywood star Bette Davis looks stunning in a series of throwback photographs documenting the early days of her legendary acting career. The cinema great, who lived between 1908 and 1989, is one of the most famous actresses of her generation.
Bette was well known for playing unsympathetic, sardonic characters, and was highly regarded for her performances in a range of film genres, from contemporary crime melodramas, to romance films, to the occasional comedy.
In the 1930’s, the actress won two Academy Awards: one for her role in 1935’s Dangerous and another in 1938 for her performance in Jezebel.
She also received a nomination for her breakout role in 1934’s Of Human Bondage and 1939’s Dark Victory.
Bette was later recognised for her iconic roles in 1950’s All About Eve and 1962’s What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?.
