Michael Douglas's son faces 10 years in prison
THE son of Hollywood star Michael Douglas faces at least 10 years in jail for running a “large-scale” drug-dealing operation.
Heroin addict Cameron Douglas, 31, was arrested in New York last July and crystal meth worth about £12,500 was seized, Manhattan Superior Court heard last week.
His father, who attended an unsuccessful bail hearing on Friday, was said to be “devastated but resigned” last night to his son’s fate.
A friend of the 65-year-old actor revealed yesterday: “Cameron’s a hopeless addict but no one had any idea he was dealing such vast quantities of drugs to fuel his habit.
“Michael believes jail time may now be the only thing that can save his son’s life.”
Cameron pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute illegal drugs and heroin possession. He will be sentenced on April 27.
