Alan Sugar brands Dan Wootton's question 'stupid'
Lord Sugar, 74, was left highly confused on Sunday evening after he was questioned by GB News presenter Dan Wootton about taking the knee. England brought football home on Sunday, kicking off their Euro 2020 campaign with a 1-0 win against Croatia. And it was a breath of fresh air for many that the team had managed to ignore the sneer and boos they had recieved the week before.
What a stupid f***ing question
Following their triumph, Lord Sugar appeared on the newly launched GB Newss to chat about the day's events, but Dan was more interested in his opinion on the somewhat controversial decision for players to take the knee before the game begins, as a nod to ruling out racism in not only the sport but in society as a whole.
"Did you watch the game today Lord Sugar?" Dan asked.
"And what did you think of the players taking the knee?"
The Apprentice boss replied: "Oh, I think it's ridiculous."

"If the players want to take the knee and want to make the statement, let them do it," he insisted.
Dan then wondered aloud: "Have you taken the knee?"
Lord Sugar seemed confused as he asked him to repeat the question, before saying: "Where would I take the knee?!"
"In Sainsbury's?" he mocked as Dan tried to explain his question.
"Well Keir Starmer seems to have done it in an office..."
He was cut off as the business man chimed in: "What a stupid f***ing question.
"I don't play football, why would I take the knee?"
Dan tried to laugh off the humiliation as he added: "Well, people are taking it everywhere.

"Keir Starmer took it in an office."
He realised how his question may have been misconstrued as he changed tack: "I mean personally, do you believe in it?"
"Well he's a nutty, so don't compare me to him," Lord Sugar restored, seemingly unimpressed.
"What a f**king stupid question... do I take the knee," he sighed and tutted.

It comes after the England players were booed during their warm-up friendlies against Austria and Romania in Middlesbrough, as coach Gareth Southgate said the booing feels like an attack on England’s black players.
But the moaning was drowned out by applause as England took the knee before their opening Euro 2020 fixture against Croatia.
