The BBC TV host already has two sons, Teddy and Kit, with husband Charlie Thomson.
Alex and her insurance broker beau first met at a party 10 years ago.
In 2015 they tied the knot at Cardiff castle on New Year's Eve before welcoming their first child, Teddy, in 2017.
Two years later, the TV star revealed on The One Show that she was pregnant for a second time and told former co-host Matt Baker that they were now a "family of four".
Speaking to co-host and singer Ronan Keating, the Welsh host announced her third pregnancy on the BBC show at the end of March.
Shifting in her seat, Alex said: "I feel really nervous all of a sudden.
"It just feels like a good time to share some news with everybody and the crew in the studio for the first time.
She continued: "Lockdown's been anything but predictable and we've had some really unexpected news, baby number three is on the way."

Following the news on the show, Alex took to Instagram where she opened up on her pregnancy in a sweet black and white snap.
The presenter captioned the photo: "The best surprise ever. "

She told The Telegraph's Stella magazine: "The baby had stopped developing at about nine weeks.
"That was really hard. It hit us like a ton of bricks."
