Addressing the rumours in November last year, Ranvir admitted it would be “a b****y miracle” if she and the Italian dancer were struck by the BBC show’s so-called “curse”.
Talking to Hello! Magazine, Adil revealed that his co-presenter kept her upcoming dance plans under wraps, even denying them when she was quizzed about whether she was taking part.
"She said to me, 'Are you doing it?' I said I wasn't and asked if she was, to which she replied, 'No, of course not!'
"So it went on to cause a grey area about whether or not we were taking part, when all along she was."
Following the final of the dance show, Ranvir posted a picture of her and Giovanni hugging in their Strictly outfits on Instagram.
The last line of the caption read: "Connection is everything."
The caption sent Strictly fans into a frenzy with one asking: "Connection is everything, wait what does that mean?"
Another added: "You guys are the love story 2020 needs!"
Despite the show being over, Ranvir revealed on GMB that her and Giovanni are still close friends.
She said: "I think we will stay friends. Why not? Because we have experienced something quite deep and quite intense actually."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV, while Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One later this year.
