Naga Munchetty gets apology from Richard Osman over 'blatant falsehood' - 'Disappointed'
NAGA MUNCHETTY, a BBC Breakfast presenter, has received an apology from Pointless host Richard Osman via Twitter this morning, after she admonished him for "voicing a blatant falsehood" about confectionery.
BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty, 45, took issue with a comment made by Pointless presenter Richard Osman online. The TV host revealed she was “very disappointed” in the star when he claimed a Twix is not a chocolate bar.
“Look, I take absolutely no pleasure in saying this, but I have been quiet for long enough,” Richard’s tweet began.
“A Twix is not a chocolate bar, it is a chocolate biscuit,” he continued in view of his 963,000 followers.
“Don't be ridiculous... of all the things to say…” Naga replied before amusingly adding: “I’m very disappointed with you.”
Not missing a beat, the quiz show host responded: "I’m sorry if it's not what you want to hear, but I couldn't keep hiding the truth any more.”

In mock anger Naga replied: “There's a difference between hiding the truth and voicing a blatant falsehood - That much is clear.
“You sir, are doing the latter.”
“If only you had a TV show where we could settle this,” the 49-year-old television producer remarked.
“I want to see you two having an American style debate on the subject ASAP. Would be good TV,” one follower joked in the comments section of their light-hearted exchange.
However, Naga was not the only person to take issue with the chocolate biscuit comment - lots of social media users waded in on the debate.

“It is by nature and construction a caramel and chocolate coated biscuit that was originally positioned as a chocolate bar to achieve maximum marketing impact. There. Sorted,” one follower stated.
Even the makers of the confectionery shared their thoughts on the matter.
The official Twix Twitter account replied: “Richard. This is an important issue. And important issues require a considered response. We will be conferring with our Head of Twix in the morning and will be making a statement in due course. Thank you for your patience.”
“Cool. You'll find him in the Biscuit Wing,” the quick-witted star retorted.
“Ah that's all well and good but what is a Jaffa cake? Cake or biscuit?” another follower added throwing a cat among the pigeons.
