Harry Potter battles guinea pigs to claim U.K. number one
HARRY POTTER has fought off competition from a group of daredevil guinea pigs to stay on top of the U.K. box office chart.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince claimed top place for the third week, taking £2.92 million - while Disney's G-Force, starring the animated rodents, took £2.48 million in its opening weekend.
John Travolta and Denzel Washington's latest offering, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, also debuted this week slipping straight in at number three with £1.78 million.
Romantic comedy The Proposal, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, dropped two places into fourth, taking £1.49 million, while Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs also slipped two places to round out the top five, with £1.14 million.
There were two other new entries in the top ten - Will Ferrell's comedy Land of the Lost opened in sixth position and Coco Before Chanel debuted at number nine.
