Jeremy Clarkson: Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host addresses ‘embarrassing’ show mishap
JEREMY CLARKSON took to Twitter to speak out on the “embarrassing” mistake he made on last night’s episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? after the presenter failed to answer a question about the Concorde’s final commercial flight correctly.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Clarkson gives WRONG answer
Jeremy Clarkson, 59, was called out for a surprising blunder he made on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? by a Twitter user last night. The presenter stunned viewers of the ITV show when he was chosen as a lifeline by contestant Sarah to answer a question about the Concorde’s last commercial flight. In spite of the fact Jeremy admitted he was a passenger on board the flight, he failed to recall the year in which the journey took place. He divulged on the programme: “I’m going to say 1998 but you’re relying on my maths which are notoriously awful.”
I know. So embarrassing.
Due to Jeremy’s hesitance, Sarah opted to use her “50:50” lifeline too, which proved Jeremy’s answer to be incorrect.
A fan was quick to point out the bizarre nature of the former Top Gear host’s mishap as he tweeted the star: “You were on the last commercial Concorde flight and you got it wrong,” alongside several crying with laughter emojis.
The TV personality then issued a candid response as he agreed his mistake was “embarrassing”.
Jeremy replied in view of his 7.2 million followers: “I know. So embarrassing.”
During the show, the presenter explained his reasoning behind the answer with a reference to his feud with Piers Morgan, 54.
The tension between the pair escalated on the final flight of the Concorde when Jeremy threw a glass of water over the Good Morning Britain host.
As a result, he said: “The reason I’m working this out is I’d already fallen out with Piers Morgan by then.
“So it can’t have been 2003 because I wouldn’t have poured a glass of water on his crotch so when he got up he looked like he’d wet himself, which is what I did do.”
The Grand Tour star’s revelation prompted giggles from the studio audience.
After he declared his “final answer”, the presenter sighed: “God, that hurt my head!”
The viewer slated his presenting skills and suggested he was the “worst example of pale privilege”.
They fumed: “@JeremyClarkson you are a joke, worst example of pale privilege I ever saw.
“You aren’t even an entertaining presenter, just roll over already.”
Jeremy appeared to brush off the vicious comment by issuing a witty retort on the social media platform.
The car enthusiast simply replied: “Anything else?”
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
