THE BBC just released a list of the biggest earners at the corporation today, revealing celebrities and presenters who earn more than £1 million. Who is the highest paid BBC celebrity?

The BBC released a list of its highest earners today, showing which big names in television command the most impressive salaries. The broadcasters release a list every year, which has in the past roused controversy. Last year, the highest earners in the company were all men, and the situation is much the same in 2019. Aside from one woman, the BBC’s biggest earners are all men.
Who is the highest paid celebrity on the BBC?
The BBC did not release exact salaries for each of its stars, and instead grouped people’s income in brackets.
This year’s highest earners all command a salary of £150,000 or more.
Everyone on the top ten list is a man, and the disparity between the highest and lowest top-earners is as much as £1,590,000.
There are no women among the top 10 BBC earners, and Claudia Winkleman, who commands up to £379,999, is still £1,370,000 below the highest earning male.

However, the gender pay gap has closed, with more women in the top 20 highest paid.
There are now five women in the top 20, compared to just two last year.
