Susanna Reid recreates childhood cameo in crime drama
Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was swept off her feet live on television by Line Of Duty star Adrian Dunbar yesterday.
It recreated a moment from her past as a child actress.
The popular presenter cringed as a clip was played from 1984 in which she appeared as a 12-year-old alongside Adrian in the Channel 4 crime series The Price.
The scene saw Susanna’s character covered with a sheet being carried into a house by an IRA kidnapper, with her gasping and crying. Adrian, 60, who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings in the gripping hit BBC drama Line Of Duty, appeared on the breakfast show to talk ahead of the series finale on Sunday night.
The pair re-enacted their joint appearance.
To commemorate their reunion Susanna posted the shot with her one‑time co-star on her Twitter account.
She captioned it: “He can still lift me! Adrian Dunbar recreating the moment he kidnapped me in The Price (1984). But is he H…” For non-Line Of Duty fans, H is the secretive most senior bent policeman being hunted by the show’s anticoruption unit.
Co-presenter Piers Morgan mocked her as the scenes were aired.
Adrian retorted that her reaction in the clip was “like her first day” starting with the outspoken Piers on Good Morning Britain. Susanna quipped back: “To be honest, I felt like I’d been taken hostage.”
