CAROL KIRKWOOD, a presenter on BBC Breakfast, vented about being referred to as a “celebrity” when she spoke out about divas in the showbiz industry and how people perceive her to be one because she is on television.

The broadcaster insisted she is not a celebrity, despite her appearances on various programmes boasting household names.
“I do programmes with 'celebrity' in the title, but I don't see myself as one,” she explained.
"I get paid for standing on telly presenting the weather - there's no comparison."
Carol Kirkwood, who regularly presents the weather segment on BBC Breakfast, played down her job when she sang the praises of doctors, firemen and those alike.
She said: “People like doctors, nurses, teachers, firemen - they actually do something for us. I don’t.”
In an interview with The Herald in 2014, the radio presenter admitted she had met some pompous characters during her lengthy career.
"I come across a lot of divas,” she divulged. “It switches me right off.”
“When somebody says, 'It must be great being a celebrity,' my answer is always, 'I'm not’.”
The humble TV personality took a swipe at those who think they are above the rest just because their on television.
She continued: “I'm a weather presenter who just happens to be on telly because it's my job.
“I certainly don't see myself as better than anybody else.”
Finishing, she concluded: “I don't like the attitude of people who think because they're on telly they're something special.”
It is Carol’s down-to-earth attitude which has won her a legion of loyal fans, many of whom were delighted to celebrate her 20th anniversary on BBC Breakfast.
At the end of last year, the meteorologist was honoured for having worked on the programme for two decades.
BBC Breakfast shared a video of some of the star’s best bits on its official Twitter page on December 29, 2018.
The footage was captioned: “We’re celebrating 20 years of @carolkirkwood on BBC Breakfast!
“Here are just some of her best bits!”
In the sweet clip, the weather reporter is seen trying her hand at hula-hooping and reporting from inside a bathtub, which had been converted into a car.
Another sequence saw the presenter dancing with her former colleague Bill Turnbull, 62, and hilariously forgetting both Naga Munchetty, 43, and 41-year-old Dan Walker’s names.
