Joel Dommett: I’m A Celebrity 2018 host admits he’s exaggerating injury from set
JOEL DOMMETT, who co-presents I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2018’s spin-off show Extra Camp, missed the ITV2 show on Tuesday night due to an injury which happened on set and caused him to have stitches.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2018 star Joel Dommett, 32, took to his Instagram to reveal what happened to his 586,000 followers. He posted two selfies to his page, one which showed him being stitched up by a doctor and the other which saw him sporting a bandage. Joel told his fans he had suffered an injury while he was filming on set in windy circumstances. Last night, he returned to the show but took to his Instagram to admit he’s now wearing his bandage just for fun.
I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I’ll be back tomorrow.
He wrote: “I’m baaaack. Don’t need the bandage any more but I’ve have had so much attention today that I’m gonna stretch it out a bit.”
On the night he missed the show, he explained to his followers what happened on his social media page.
He said: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen windy circumstances blowing the set onto my head during rehearsals, I won’t be able to present Extra Camp this evening.
“I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I’ll be back tomorrow.
“To be honest I’m less worried about my health and more worried that the show will be better without me.
“Half a day off school to go home and watch neighbours! Woo! GOOD LUCK @scarlettmoffatt and @realjoeswashy.”
Many of his social media fans flocked to his page to send their well wishes.
One user commented: “Wishing you a speedy recovery @joeldommett.”
A second wrote: “Ouch get well soon mate!”
A third penned: “Get better soon xx”
The presenter then took to his Instagram story to thank his fans for their messages.
He said: “Thank you for all your concerns, I’m OK, I have got this little cartoon bandage on.
“I am also wearing Scarlett’s hoodie, I’ve got blood all over it sorry Scarlett, I will wash it.”
Reflecting on the accident, he laughed and said: “Genuinely, I fainted and I woke up and Joe was kissing my face.”
