Katie Piper: 'This is awkward' Strictly star drops bombshell about Theresa May
KATIE PIPER who was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing 2018, exited the show last month after she and Gorka Marquez lost the dance off to Charles Venn and his partner Karen Clifton. Now, she has made a strange link between herself and Prime Minister Theresa May.

The 35-year-old TV presenter and philanthropist became the fourth Strictly Come Dancing 2018 hopeful to exit the show.
After battling to get her nerves under control, her romance-themed Jive with Spanish dancer Gorka Marquez, 28, failed to win over the judges when she went head-to-head with ex-EastEnders actor Charles Venn, 45, and his Salsa.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Katie Piper spoke out about her anxieties surrounding the Strictly experience.
“Wth Strictly I kind of suffered with Imposter Syndrome,” she said. “And when I would have days outside the training room, like I was booked to do a corporate talk, you come away thinking, oh, I’m not c**p at something.
Theresa is not confident in dancing, definitely
“Then you’d go back to the training room and Gorka would be like, ‘No, it’s one, two, three,’ and what don’t you understand about one, two, three? I’m like, I’m a moron,” she continued.
“It brings you back to that uncomfortable area of your expertise.”
Opening up about her struggle to build her confidence when it came to dancing, Katie said: “I would think even the Prime Minister would have areas they would excel in and areas they wouldn’t be so confident in.
“Theresa is not confident in dancing, definitely. It’s so cute though, her dancing.
“That was kind of me,” she said.
Katie explained she had been invited to sign up to Strictly four years in a row, but that it hadn’t been the “right time” for her.
“I did have reservations because it is like, you know when you say, ‘I can’t dance’ and they’re like, ‘Yeah right.’
“You’re like, ‘No, this is really awkward, I really can’t.’”
However, the mother-of-two ended up warming to dance and has even decided to keep taking classes as a hobby.
“I’ve never experienced anything like that and I do think you have to experience discomfort to evolve,” she said. “Because if you stay in your comfort zone all the time, you don’t have any experience. So I think it is important, at whatever age, we keep having new experiences.”

Meanwhile, Katie has released her new book, Katie Piper’s Confidence, The Journal, which she described as “practising gratitude for our lives”.
She explained how she used the journal during her time on Strictly, writing down things she was good at and her goals in order to “reframe” her thoughts.
“[The book] is the gift of confidence,” she said. “I hope it will help people think in a more positive way and in a kinder way that isn’t about, okay, change your hair, lose weight, buy new clothes.
Katie Piper Confidence, The Journal by Quercus Books is available now at www.amazon.com and all good book stores.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7.05pm on BBC One.
