Dan Walker Instagram: BBC Breakfast host’s ‘personal space INVADED’ in backstage photo
DAN WALKER this morning revealed what “really happens” behind the scenes on BBC Breakfast via his Instagram page, which saw him pictured alongside co-stars Sally Nugent, Louise Minchin and Steph McGovern.
Breakfast: Dan Walker jokes about Louise Minchin's age
Dan Walker admitted to his 46,000 Instagram followers that his personal space had been “invaded” by his fellow BBC Breakfast regulars Sally Nugent, Louise Minchin and Steph McGovern.
The BBC presenter was seen with his arm around them all as the foursome flashed huge smiles at the camera.
Thankfully the 41-year-old appeared to be only joking in the caption as he shared the “group hug” online.
The television star, who first joined the morning show back in 2016, started: “They invaded my personal space.”
This is what really happens on BBC Breakfast when we go to the ‘news, travel and weather where you are’
Dan continued: “This is what really happens on #BBCbreakfast when we go to the ‘news, travel and weather where you are’ #GroupHug #WednesdayWisdom.”
Sally later shared the black and white image with her own 2,813 followers, saying he was “outnumbered”.
The 47-year-old stated along the share: “Poor @mrdanwalker @bbcbreakfast #grouphug #outnumbered.”
His post quickly garnered nearly 1,500 likes in less than hour, as well as a number of compliments from fans.
One user wrote: “Aww man so lovely. Mine & the hubs favourite line up!”(sic) as someone else agreed: “Love this team! #bbcbreakfast.”
“You are a lucky man Mr Walker,” another quipped, as a fourth went on: “They didn’t manage to ‘sneak’ away then. I want to be part of your gang!! #squadgoals.”
It comes just hours after Dan gave followers another glimpse of what goes on backstage before the cameras start rolling.
While he sat on the famous sofa looking smart in a suit and tie, his companions were seen having the final touches applied.
Alongside a crying with laughter emoji, he wrote: “30 seconds before we go on air on #BBCbreakfast.
“Patrick & Claire apply the final layer while Sally partakes in some emergency nail painting.”
Dan replaced former host Bill Turnbull two years ago after he decided to retire after 15 years.
Dan Walker points out Carol Kirkwood's 'Brighton' necklace
His first instalment aired in the February and from Monday to Wednesday he is joined by Louise, 50.
He also fronts Football Focus and BBC Radio 5 Live as well as fronting segments for Final Score and Match of the Day.
It comes after Dan’s BBC colleague Carol Kirkwood made a shock admission about him after working with him for a number of years.
The 56-year-old told Essential Surrey and SW London: “I go on holiday with Sally and Steph each year. Now Dan Walker has joined us – he is such a honey!”
