Sergio Garcia wife: Angela given HUGE snog as Sergio Garcia wins Ryder Cup with Europe
SERGIO GARCIA’S wife, Angela Garcia, couldn’t resist giving the Ryder Cup 2018 winner a huge snog as Europe clinched victory at the golf tournament in France yesterday.
Ryder Cup: Team Europe Captain ‘so proud’ of players
Europe’s golfers won back the Ryder Cup after beating the US team 17.5-10.5 at Le Golf National near Paris.
And Sergio Garcia, 38, was overcome with emotion as he embraced his wife, Angela, following the win.
The Spanish golfer gave his spouse a passionate snog as they hugged on the course.
The couple couldn’t stop beaming away as they held each other’s gaze and celebrated Europe’s win.
I don't usually cry
Sergio broke down in tears on the day after beating Ricky Fowler to become the most successful player in Ryder Cup history.
He then sobbed as he was called a “legend” by team-mate Justine Rose.
"I don't usually cry, but I couldn't help it," he said.
Sergio also opened up about the “rough year” he’s had and said the win “means a lot”.
"What a week,” he said. “It's been a rough year, but you know, we fought hard. Believe in me. I’m so happy to get the cup back.”
Talking about his scoring record: “It means a lot, but at the end of the day, I’ve always said it, It’s about the team, and I’m happy that I was able to help.
“It’s a bonus. It’s something that I never thought I would have the possibility of doing.”
Angela had been supporting Sergio all weekend and ensured she captured many memorable moments on her phone.
The beauty filmed her husband on the golf course celebrating the win with his team-mates.
Uploading the videos to her Instagram account, Angela could be heard cheering as team Europe celebrated the win and lifted the trophy.
Sergio became the first European to win five points in one tournament.
Many other golfers were also feeling emotional as they beat the US team, which many had believed to be the strongest ever American team.
Francesco Molinari said after the victory: “It means so much more than majors, more than anything. It’s hard not to get emotional.
“They had probably the strongest team ever and we were just so good. It is unreal.”
Ian Poulter, whose nickname is “The Postman” as he always delivers points for the team, delighted crowds by wearing a pillar-box fancy dress outfit.
Rory McIllroy, who was with his US wife Erica Stoll, praised his team-mates as he collected the trophy and said: “They have been amazing, the 12 of them, unbelievable. They were determined to set out and do the job themselves.”
