Emilia Clarke: Game of Thrones star's unexpected connection to Rachel Riley REVEALED
EMILIA CLARKE is best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones but now, an unexpected link to Rachel Riley has been revealed as the Countdown beauty made a revelation on the Channel 4 show.
Countdown: Rachel Riley says who should play her in a film
The 31-year-old actress has played the Mother of Dragons since the HBO fantasy drama series first aired in 2011.
She has since gone on to land roles in the likes of Solo: A Star Wars Story and Me Before You.
Emilia also played Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In a bizarre turn of events, Rachel Riley, 32, admitted she has her eye on the Game of Thrones star for another part during yesterday’s instalment of Countdown.
Jennifer Lawrence, quite happy with that. Emilia Clarke, Emma Stone, Margot Robbie and I really like Natalie Portman as well
The show opened with host Nick Hewer, 74, pondering the often posed question of who people would want to play them in a movie of their life.
“I don’t know about you but — any film made about me would be very, very short,” he said. “And I would be played by Wilfrid Bramble who was the dirty old man in Steptoe and Son.”
“Is he still alive?” Rachel chipped in. “Just a little question…”
“No he’s long gone,” he replied.
“You might want to rethink that. It would be a strange film,” she joked.
Nick then asked the blonde bombshell who she would want to portray her in a film.
“Oh, I’ve got a list,” she exclaimed. “Jennifer Lawrence, quite happy with that. Emilia Clarke, Emma Stone, Margot Robbie and I really like Natalie Portman as well.
“She went to Harvard and she published two scientific papers. Nice Jewish girl.
“Any of those will do if it ever happens!” she added.
“You can be my agent, Nick,” the mathematician quipped.
Elsewhere, Emilia wrapped filming on the final season of Game of Thrones earlier this summer.
In a bold tribute to her character Daenerys, she unveiled a dragon tattoo on Instagram earlier the week.
The actress could be seen giggling happily as she held up one hand to her head, showing off three small dragons inked on her wrist, her green blazer and shirt sleeves rolled up.
“@_dr_woo_ made sure this mamma ain’t NEVER forgetting her babies,” she told her 18 million followers.
Emilia added the hashtags: #dontworryionlybrieflypassedout #withfyreandinkbaby #modgothookedupp #couldntbehappierifitried.”
Fans were quick to share their excitement at her new tattoo, with one commenting: “Omg I love this!”(sic)
“How absolutely perfect,” another said, while a third agreed: “Yaaaaaaas I feel like tearing up right nw this is soon good in fact perfect.
“We will never forget you either, you will always be our Mother of Dragons.”(sic)
