Who is Seann Walsh? How old is Seann Walsh?
Seann Walsh was the eleventh celebrity announced for the BBC’s 2018 season of Strictly Come Dancing.
He was confirmed on BBC'S The One Show in August
He will be joining the other confirmed celebrity contestants television presenter and activist Katie Piper, Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules, Steps alumni Faye Tozer, Youtube star Joe Sugg, Capital FM radio host Vick Hope, cricketer Graeme Swann, Dr Ranj Singh, Journalist Stacey Dooley, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, newsreader Kate Silverton, singer Lee Ryan, Paralympian Lauren Steadman, actor Charles Venn and Susannah Constantine.
The 32-year-old is best known as a stand-up comedian who has appeared on a number of panel shows.
Born in London but brought up in Brighton, Seann Walsh started doing stand-up in 2006.
Three years later he started getting acclaim for his stand up, described by The Guardian as “comic curmudgeonliness”.
2009 saw him named best newcomer by comedy website Chortle.
This led to his first appearance on Mock the Week, plus work supporting comic Stephen K Amos for his 2008-10 tours.
He worked as a warm-up comedian for QI before starting to appear in front of the camera on panel shows.
He has worked on a number of these shows, including Mock the Week, Stand Up for the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Celebrity Juice.
He has also been a team captain or regular panellist on E4’s Virtually Famous and ITV’s Play to the Whistle.
Seann has also appeared on stand-up showcases like Tonight at the London Palladium, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Live at the Apollo.
He has also acted on Jack Dee sitcom Bad Move and provided a guest voice for Family Guy.
He is one of the few comedians to have taken part on the show, with Walsh being the eighth stand-up to have competed in the 16 series so far.
So far, the comic who has got the furthest on Strictly is Julian Clary, who came third in season two.
The other comedians who have taken part are Jason Wood (8th in series 1), Jimmy Tarbuck (12th in series 4), Jan Ravens (9th in series 4), Rory Bremner (12th in series 9), Brian Conley (12th in season 15) and Susan Calman (7th in series in 2015).

Walsh’s dancing partner will not be announced until the launch show, when all the celebrities get paired up.

Walsh does not have any dancing experience.
In fact, he said of his being cast on the show: “Having seen videos of me dancing on friends’ phones from the night before, it’s safe to say I’m petrified.”
However, he added: “I’m really looking forward to the Lycra and the lifts.”
